Who we are
We are a micro fresh-cut peony farm located in the heart of the Great Lakes in the Algoma region of Northern Ontario.
It all began with wanting peonies for our own wedding day. In the wedding planning stages, we knew nothing about flowers or their bloom times. We had no concept of growing flowers, and the costs associated with shipping florals in.
Our florist (with kindness and grace) advised us it would cost us most of our wedding budget if we went with peonies in September. Disappointed as we were, we opted for local, in-season blooms which turned out fabulous in the end.
However, in the back of our minds, the thought always lingered about the costs associated with shipping flowers in and how there was a lack of local peonies and flowers grown here in Algoma.
Shortly afterwards and just before the pandemic we planted two sweet Shirley Temple peonies from our local nursery on our property. Seeing our peonies thrive and produce massive blooms brought us great joy during those heavy pandemic days. It was an immediate flood of joy and we knew we couldn’t possibly grow these flowers just for ourselves. We knew we needed to share this feeling.
We are a registered Ontario business as of 2025 and we host a home to well over 220 peony plants on our cozy cottage acreage - with the goal to plant more as years go on. We’ve planted over 25 varieties of peonies, both rare and common - in a rainbow of colours - something for everybody.
While all this peony growing is happening, in the background, we’ve been researching, trialling, testing, and learning about growing lavender, roses, pansies, and tulips. We plan on adding this to the mix in the near future; when we’re confident in our growing methods.
We appreciate all the support we’ve received from our community thus far, and cannot wait for what the future holds.
